Get to Know Dr. Albert Kim
I have over a decade of experience in the dental field, and I’m committed to providing my patients with a safe, comfortable, and trustworthy place they can go to stay on top of their oral healthcare needs. When I first opened my office, I was fully aware that many patients didn’t have a great view of dentists, and I didn’t want that to be the case for my patients. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
I decided to pursue a career as a dentist shortly after graduating from UCLA. I was originally studying to become a psychiatrist but eventually realized that a different career in healthcare would suit me better. One of my family friends recommended that I look into dentistry since I enjoyed art and had a strong attention to detail. After doing some research in the dental field, I immediately fell in love and knew it was the right career path for me.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
I attended UCLA for my undergraduate degree and earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the NYU College of Dentistry in 2013. I enjoy doing a wide range of procedures, including routine checkups and cleanings, simple wisdom tooth extractions, and helping fearful patients with sedation dentistry. I also have advanced training in implant dentistry and guided tissue regeneration, which is the process of building new bone in order to successfully place dental implants.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
I’m from Claremont, California. Both of my parents are Korean immigrants who were deeply involved in teaching before retiring to travel the world. My mom was an ESL instructor at Diamond Bar High School, and my father ran an after-school tutoring center. My younger sister, as well as my parents, still live in California.
In my free time, I enjoy drawing, building custom keyboards, gaming, building PC’s, and I’m a collector of audio gear, fountain pens, and pocketknives.
